Email entries become official when the entry fee is received.
2. Your 15-man roster must consist of 10 hitters and 5 pitchers as prescribed in Rules #3 and #4. The roster must be selected from among the players listed. Players must be selected for the field positions listed. The ten hitters will fill the regular 8 positions plus 1 extra OUTFIELDER and 1 extra INFIELD-CATCHER. The 5 pitchers must include 4 starters and 1 reliever.
3. Of the 10 hitters, you may select only three "top of the liners" as designated by ***. You must select at least two players from the "lineup fillers" designated by *. The remaining five hitters may be selected from the "solid citizens" designated by **.
4. Of the five pitchers, you may select only two "top of the liners"(***) and must select at least one from the "lineup fillers"(*). The remaining two pitchers may be selected from the "solid citizens" (**) category.
5. Scoring will be in seven categories, four batting and three pitching. Pitchers batting stats will not count in the scoring.
Batting categories:
A. Runs - for each run scored by your hitters, you get 0.75
points.
B. Home Runs - Each home run is worth 0.50 points.
C. RBI's - Each RBI is worth 1.25 points.
D. Stolen Bases - Each stolen base is worth 0.25 points.
Pitching categories:
A. Wins - Each game won by your five pitchers is worth 12 points.
B. Loses - For each loss, 3 points will be subtracted.
C. Saves - Each save is worth 4 points.
6. Prize money will be awarded based upon the number entries. The prize list will appear shortly after the start of the season. Standings are posted every Monday afternoon. Please refer to prior years' awards to see how things are done. I am hoping to increase the weekly amount but that depends upon having a larger number of total entries. The "singleton" hitter and pitcher awards will continue along with the Home Run Derby part of the contest.
7. Replacement of players is not allowed. One of the secrets of the game is to get lucky and pick players who remain healthy all season. Double check your entry to make sure that it is legal. Not all players are on the master list. A lot of rookies and free agents have been left off, but there should be enough Cub players to satisfy all those who want to submit a losing entry.
