Contest News

  • Week #6 standings are up. How many key players are going to make it thru the season without going on the DL?
  • I have added a Season Summary under the Regular Season menu item. This gives your team its week by week position and score.
  • The player TimesTaken list has been updated to reflect all the roster corrections made since it was first ran. This makes it easy to see which hitters and pitchers are elgible for singleton honors.
  • Things starting to smooth out. Every roster change or stat correction causes a rerun of all weeks results. So far no change to any of the weekly winners. finished soon.
  • There are 413 paid entries. 2012 Prize List has been uploaded
  • If you see a problem with either your team or a player stats just email me at bartscontest2012@gmail.com.
  • OBP Derby has been added to the Derbys. OBP = (hits + walks)/(AB's + walks) Contest has not rewarded hits and walks up until now.
  • The online roster selection module with its built in "legality" check was a success. I attribute the lower number of entries to the decline in local area participation. When Harney's TV closed its doors we lost the Dixon area center for a large group of people who passed thru on a daily basis for a cup of coffee and local gossip. Maybe we'll reach my goal of 500+ entries next season. Good luck to all.
  • Just to keep things on the up and up - My two teams are Sammy the Cat and Louie the Legend. Maybe I'll finally cash this year :)

Welcome

to an easy and fun fantasy baseball contest. You select ten batters and five pitchers according to a set of simple rules, get your entry in on time, and then sit back and enjoy the progress (or lack of it) of your team. No need to worry about replacing players because you can't. No roster maintenance or extra fees other than the one time $10 entry fee for each team you enter. It's about as simple as you can get.

This contest started locally(Dixon, IL) in 1991 with 69 entries. Over the years it has grown to 400+ entries, many of which come from all over the United States and Canada. With more people having access to the Web I decided to post results here and open the contest to the whole world.

By browsing thru the links on the top menu you will get a quick idea of how things work. I have many of the recent seasons contests available for your view through the past seasons link. Standings appear on the site every Thursday (except for fishing vacations). There are 26 weekly winners, a Home Run Derby contest, and other special contests along with the season long big contest.
